Cookies &
device storage.
The public pages and the private reading room do not use storage in the same way.
Public site
The public site is built primarily from static pages and first-party assets.
The current public marketing site sets no browser cookies and runs no analytics scripts. Its web server nevertheless records technical access logs, as described in our Privacy Notice.
Private Reader
The Reader uses necessary, first-party cookies to protect invitations, forms and reading sessions. They do not grant cross-site public access.
Annotations
The Reader keeps your notes and related preferences in your browser's own storage. Clearing that storage can remove local notes. Export a copy first if you want to preserve them; choosing to send notes to the publisher is a separate, explicit action.
Your controls
Your browser can limit or clear cookies and local data. Blocking necessary Reader cookies may prevent an invitation from opening or a reading session from continuing.
The private Reader uses the host-only secure session cookie __Host-dp_reader (valid for no more than 24 hours and never beyond invitation expiry) and form-protection session cookie __Host-dp_csrf. Its browser storage keeps annotations, last position and reading/display preferences. Clearing local storage may remove notes unless you first export them. These are separate from the public marketing site.
